History
In 2007 two long standing service providers in the Greater Cincinnati area recognized an opportunity to strengthen existing programs and increase the population able to be served within our community. Family Service and Clermont Counseling Center began taking the steps necessary to make this opportunity possible.
On July 1, 2009, after a nearly two year process, LifePoint Solutions was formed leading the way to providing truly comprehensive and integrated client driven services. The formation of LifePoint Solutions allows for the opportunity to offer more comprehensive services to families, children, couples and adults at multiple locations in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area.
About Family Service:
Family Service began in 1879 as Associated Charities to alleviate the suffering of low-income residents of Cincinnati by designing a systematic way to distribute relief funds to the poor. In 1935, Associated Charities shifted its emphasis toward the family service aspect of the work and minimized the relief efforts. The agency began to provide counseling services rather than financial aid and in 1945, Associated Charities became Family Service of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, changing its name again in 1960 to Family Service of the Cincinnati Area. Throughout history, services have been adapted to meet the changing needs of the community, but we have always maintained our focus on helping families achieve self-sufficiency.
About Clermont Counseling Center:
Clermont Counseling Center was founded in 1973 as the first community mental health center serving Clermont County, a rural and suburban county in southwestern Ohio. Over the 35 years of its existence, the center has added innovative programs and best practices to take advantage of the emerging research on program design, interventions, and medications that greatly improved successful treatment of mental illness. Clermont Counseling Center is passionate about assisting individuals and families to recover from short-term emotional setbacks or long-term chronic and severe mental illness. We work to restore functioning so that our clients can return to the mainstream of life, family, and work.
