Parenting and Early Childhood Programs
The LifePoint Solutions Early Childhood and Parenting team offers encouragement, education, and support to children, parents, and families while delivering programs that have an emphasis on strengthening the family unit. Through our programs we work to assist families with enhancing their nurturing capacities to better support the healthy development of all family members. Our programming includes:
Our Programming
Every Child Succeeds (ECS):
ECS is part of a collaboration among several organizations in the region. Staff members trained in child development visit eligible first-time mothers in their homes on a regular basis. These home visitors provide support and education in the areas of parenting, child development and child safety. Additionally, they do minimal screening for developmental delays. Service coordination for children identified as having a developmental disability or delay is another service provided by the ECS home visitors.
Since becoming a lead provider agency with the ECS program, LifePoint Solutions has enrolled 884 families and provided 17,041 assessments and home visits.
Families In Transition (FIT):
Families in Transition is a six-hour series of two workshops with groups for parents, children ages 5 through 10, and youth ages 11 through 17, who are involved in the divorce process. Parents involved in a divorce through the Kentucky courts are eligible to participate in the FIT classes.
For more information or to register for the FIT program, contact Nancy House at 859-547-5763.
Parents with Pride:
Parents with Pride is designed to help families enhance their nurturing capacities and to better support the healthy development of all family members. Parents with Pride is an on-going weekly parent education program where parents increase their understanding of child development and learn non- coercive discipline techniques. Child care is provided during this meeting for children up to age 10 years.
